# Quick Start

> Build, download, and load your first Chrome extension with Extensy in under 5 minutes.

# Quick Start

Describe what you want your extension to do, and Extensy generates fully compliant Manifest V3 code ready to load in Chrome. Follow these steps to go from prompt to a working extension.

**1. Write your prompt**

Navigate to the **Extensy Assistant** and describe your extension in plain English. Be specific about the action, the target site, and any UI you want.

**Example prompt:** "A tool that highlights price tags on any website and converts them to my local currency."

**2. Review the generated code**

Extensy generates all necessary files — `manifest.json`, `content.js`, `background.js`, and a popup UI. Review the output in the editor and make any manual adjustments you need before exporting.

> [!TIP]
>
> If the first result isn't quite right, refine your prompt and click **Regenerate**. Each generation costs one credit.

**3. Export the ZIP**

Click the **Export** button in the top-right corner. Extensy packages all your extension files into a single, store-ready ZIP archive and downloads it to your machine.

**4. Unzip the package**

Locate the downloaded ZIP file and extract its contents into a dedicated folder. Keep this folder somewhere easy to find — Chrome needs to reference it when loading the extension.

**5. Load the extension in Chrome**

1. Open a new tab and navigate to `chrome://extensions`.
2. Toggle **Developer mode** on using the switch in the top-right corner.
3. Click **Load unpacked**.
4. Select the folder you extracted in the previous step.

> [!WARNING]
>
> Do not move or delete the unzipped folder after loading. Chrome reads the extension directly from that location. Moving it will break the installation.

**6. Test your extension**

Your extension card now appears in the `chrome://extensions` list. Pin the extension icon to your toolbar by clicking the puzzle-piece icon and selecting the pin.

Navigate to a webpage that matches your prompt and verify the extension behaves as expected.
